Located in the heart of northern Minnesota, there’s a special place where memories are born. The Ojibwe and early settlers called it Winnibigoshish. Today, locals call it Lake Winnie.
Location
Lake Winnie is located in the Chippewa National Forest and surrounded by hundreds of square miles of diverse woodlands, gently rolling hills and lush marshlands, Lake Winnie is comprised of 67,000 acres of clear, cool water. It’s the fourth largest lake in Minnesota. Nearly all of its more than 140 shoreline miles are undeveloped, making it a perfect location for a pristine fishing getaway or family vacation. There are many family and fishing resorts, campgrounds, hotels, restaurants and other year round activities and attractions to enjoy.

Not only does the area have the renowned Lake Winnie, but it is also surrounded by other pristine lakes such as Cut Foot Sioux, Little Cut Foot and Little Winnie. Time and time again, Lake Winnie and area lakes produce limits of walleye and trophy fish. Lake Winnibigoshish (Lake Winnie), Cut Foot Sioux and Little Winnie have hosted numerous fishing tournaments and have been featured in numerous fishing industry publications and shows.
