The majority of consistent walleye action is now happening with live-bait rigs and leeches on the main-lake bars and humps in 14 to 18 feet. A wind-driven shoreline, point, or tops of the main-lake structure also will kick out walleyes on jigs and leeches early and late each day. Northern pike are biting, but the big fish are just starting to turn on, and most good perch reports are coming from 12 feet or more on the bars.
