Lake Winnibigoshish – February 25, 2015

Hello from Big Winnie. The walleye and pike seasons are now closed. Time to go pan fishing. The perch bite on Winnie is getting better toward the west side. Look to the snag hole area to the river mouth. 12 to 30 feet of water. The Sugar Island area north to the Raven rocks is good. The weather is making them move from the 8 to 12 foot out to the 12 to 20 foot. Sometimes in the same day. Find them and they will readily bite. North areas to look for are the saddle off high banks and the Tamarac bay in 12 to 18 feet. Sunnies are going in Big and Little cutfoot . Early and late in the day is best. Crappie action in cutfoot also has been good though smaller fish at this time. Several smaller lakes near by have had some good crappie action also. See you on the lake. -Pat
