July 17th Fishing Report

July 17, 2026

Walleyes and perch are biting on Winnie. Walleyes have transitioned off of some of the deeper mud humps and pushing more into harder bottom mid lake flats in the 12-17ft range. Leeches and crawlers under a float are still outperforming other tactics most days.

The perch are showing up on typical weedy and rocky shoreline areas in 4-7ft. Find the best weeds and you will find some perch. Long lining a lightweight spinner is effective at getting the perch out of the weeds and produces some fun pike bites throughout the day as well. July 10th Fishing Report

The mayflies have hatched and the walleyes are still biting. Lots of reports this week of limits and great keeper size fish in the 13-16 in range. Fish that are in the shallower mid lake flats in 13-15 ft range seem to be in groups of 3-5 and are fairly ease to trick if you can see them on your electronics without spooking them. There is a lot of deeper fish off the edges of mid lake muddier humps in the 22-27 ft range. Bobbers and leeches have been the main go to this week but jigs and plastics got a close second. July 6th Fishing Report

Winnie is producing! Fish are being found on mid lake flats from 10-15 ft and off these large expansive flats in the 22-28 ft range.

June 26th Fishing Report

Water temps on Winnie are warming back up. Fish are reacting well to leeches and crawlers on a variety of different setups. June 22nd Fishing Report

Winnie walleyes never disappoint. The best depths for active fish throughout the day has been 9-14 ft on shallow mid lake bars and shoreline flats. Bobber and leech combos have been producing. June 15th Fishing Report

Lake Winnie is producing. Eater size fish and slots that really bend the rod. Bobbers and leeches and jig/ shiner presentations have been working the best in 9-14 ft. Tamarack bay has had a lot of traffic and that’s due to the amount of fish. As the wind switches this week expect to see similar bites along the west and south shore. June 5th Fishing Report

It’s starting to feel like summer and the walleye presentations that are working the best, seem to be more summer focused. Spinner rigs tipped with fatheads and crawlers along with slip bobber techniques having been boating a lot of walleyes. The smaller water size walleyes on Winnie are holding in 9-14 ft of water for the most part. Areas with the best weed growth seem to be holding the most amount of fish.
