July 6th Fishing Report

Winnie is producing! Fish are being found on mid lake flats from 10-15 ft and off these large expansive flats in the 22-28 ft range. Bobber and leech along with jigs paired with leeches, crawlers, or minnows. High speed graphing at 18-25 mph can help anglers locate large groups of fish positioned on top or off the edge of the flats. Good luck everyone and hope everyone had a successful 4th. June 26th Fishing Report

Water temps on Winnie are warming back up. Fish are reacting well to leeches and crawlers on a variety of different setups. June 22nd Fishing Report

Winnie walleyes never disappoint. The best depths for active fish throughout the day has been 9-14 ft on shallow mid lake bars and shoreline flats. Bobber and leech combos have been producing. June 15th Fishing Report

Lake Winnie is producing. Eater size fish and slots that really bend the rod. Bobbers and leeches and jig/ shiner presentations have been working the best in 9-14 ft. Tamarack bay has had a lot of traffic and that’s due to the amount of fish. As the wind switches this week expect to see similar bites along the west and south shore. Mid-June Through July is Peak Northwoods Action

There is a specific week every year when the Minnesota Northwoods hits its stride. It isn’t during the unpredictable early May, it happens right now, from mid-June through the end of July.

June 5th Fishing Report

It’s starting to feel like summer and the walleye presentations that are working the best, seem to be more summer focused. Spinner rigs tipped with fatheads and crawlers along with slip bobber techniques having been boating a lot of walleyes. The smaller water size walleyes on Winnie are holding in 9-14 ft of water for the most part. Areas with the best weed growth seem to be holding the most amount of fish. May 29th Fishing Report

High sun calm days sometimes require you to change your tactics, but also offer new opportunities. Jumbo perch have been shallow for the year so far. 3-5 ft. Three Sisters area and the west shore of Winnie have been producing some great perch action. If the walleye bite seems a little slow don’t be afraid to pursue new opportunities. Walleye fishing has remained strong. Good reports are coming in from across the lake. Many reports also of keeper size fish filling limits. Jigging is still the primary technique. 8-12ft.
