September 20th Fishing Report
Prime fall fishing is still a couple of weeks away, but Little Cutfoot has been producing good numbers of panfish, with crappies getting significantly larger over the past week. As for the big lake, anglers should be prepared to adapt. Reports indicate a solid spinner bite, while others are having success with jigging techniques, whether trolling or casting. Each day seems to bring different conditions, so what worked yesterday may not work today or tomorrow.
Lake Winnie emphasizes the importance of having reliable electronics on board, as they can help turn a slow fishing day into a successful one. More fish are moving toward shoreline structures, and this fall transition allows anglers to find windward shorelines that offer good fishing without being stuck in the middle of strong winds. For those seeking more active bites, fishing structures exposed to the wind can be effective, but knowing your boat and how to control it is crucial.
Even if the temperatures don't feel like fall yet, the season is definitely in the air. Lake Winnibigoshish is setting up for memorable fall fishing adventures.
